<p><a href="http://www.act-i-vate.com">Act-i-vate</a> gave me my start in comics.  The tight knit web-comics collective, founded by Dean Haspiel  (who just won an Emmy, btw!  Go Dean!) and Dan Goldman let me and Leavitt do our first long comics story, <a href="http://act-i-vate.com/40.comic">Backstage</a>.  Looking at it now, all I can see are the louse-ups of my early attempt, by <em>Backstage</em> was the seed that gave birth to <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0982340907/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_i4?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_s=center-2&amp;pf_rd_r=1E8QKRC5R4QESESBS4QQ&amp;pf_rd_t=101&amp;pf_rd_p=470938631&amp;pf_rd_i=507846">Scarlett Takes Manhattan</a>, and later, <a href="http://io9.com/5534839/in-puppet-makers-the-aristocrats-of-versailles-are-cyborg-courtesans/gallery/">Puppet Makers</a>.</p>
<p>Dean was kind enough to ask me to contribute to the <em><a href="http://mollycrabapple.com/shop/">Act-i-vate Primer</a></em><a href="http://mollycrabapple.com/shop/">,</a> a handsome, hardbound, glossy covered anthology that was recently nominated for a <a href="http://www.harveyawards.org/">Harvey Award</a>.  I have a mere two signed copies available in the <a href="http://mollycrabapple.com/shop/">store</a>.  Fortunately, my style improved by the time I got to contribute.</p>

<p>Thus, I&#8217;m devising a contest. <strong>The NSFW Contest!</strong></p>
<p><strong>Have you been banned from looking at my site?  Get a screenshot, and post it in the comments or email it to molly@mollycrabapple.com.  On July 10th, I&#8217;ll choose a random entrant and mail them a signed copy of Scarlett Takes Manhattan, a very NSFW book.</strong></p>

<p>It sincerely thrills me that I have illustrations in <a href="http://coilhouse.net/2010/06/coilhouse-05-let-all-the-children-boogie">their latest issue.</a> I got to draw the founders of the neo-burlesque movement for an article on Jo Weldon.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://coilhouse.net/2010/06/coilhouse-05-let-all-the-children-boogie"><img class="aligncenter" title="dsfs" src="http://coilhouse.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/issue05_430.jpg" alt="" width="430" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>Besides my art, Coilhouse #5 has Neil Gaiman, Amanda Palmer, Zoe Keating, Chet Zar, Wil Wheaten, paper dolls, fold out posters, and a shiny disco-tastic gold foil cover.  <a href="http://coilhouse.net/2010/06/coilhouse-05-let-all-the-children-boogie">You should buy it.</a> They&#8217;re making history</p>
