Devil in the Details: Contest

“I have become convinced that Molly Crabapple was sent by the devil to seduce us all into art”- Neil Gaiman

The Art of Molly Crabapple Volume 2: Devil in the Details is up for pre-order! This is a collection of my fine art, poster art and everything in between, done over the last few years, with a forward by Margaret Cho, comedy goddess and patron saint of weird kids everywhere.  To encourage you to pre-order the beast, I’m having another contest

Fine artist, illustrator, and comics creator Molly Crabapple captures the absurdity of modern life in intricate, theatrical detail in her fine art work, drawing inspiration from politics, polite (and not-so-polite) society, and hundreds of years of literature. Her work is burlesque-inspired in the broadest definition of the word – deftly satirizing the powerful with adorably sinister animals, steampunk-tinged machinery, and of course, beautiful girls. But it’s not all fantastical – when Occupy Wall Street broke out, Molly was there, capturing the immediacy of the revolutionary feeling in pen and ink. In a new 48-page book from IDW, you can get Molly’s art in gorgeous full-color, work that’s decorated glamorous nightclubs, museums and galleries, and protest signs and occupied spaces around the country. Comedian Margaret Cho contributes the Foreward.

I have two Bags of Art Awesomeness!  Each Bag of Art Awesomeness includes: Dr. Sketchy’s Rainy Day Colouring Book, Scarlett Takes Manhattan, a record by Vermillion Lies, stickers, temporary tattoos, show catalogs, prints, Sublime Stitching embroidery patterns, t-shirts, and the totebag I designed for 2010 SXSW Interactive, of a steampunk octopus up to no good.

To enter the Devil in the Details Contest, either

1. Preorder The Art of Molly Crabapple Volume 2: Devil in the Details on Amazon. Email your receipt to WeekInHell@Gmail.com

OR

2. Preorder your copy of The Art of Molly Crabapple Volume 2: Devil in the Details at your local comics store. It’s in Diamond Previews starting May. It’s Diamond code is may120457 and its ISBN is 978-1613772737 . Email proof of this (like an email to your local comics store) to WeekInHell@Gmail.com. Preordering from local stores is VERY important, both because we want stores to carry our weird little art book, and because supporting stores, rather than Amazon, is what keeps the world from turning into parking lots and Walmart

We will be choosing one winner who preordered on Amazon, and one winner who pre-ordered from their local store.  Judging by the last contest, preordering at a local store is the best way to win. Contest closes on May 30, and winners will be chosen and notified by June 4th.

Thank you so much for your support!
