May 15: Brothers of the Gun Book Launch

We are honored to announce that Molly’s second book, a collaboration with Syrian author and journalist Marwan Hisham is out today, May 15th. You can order copies here or from amazon or your local bookstore or anywhere books are sold.

On Tuesday we’re joining forces with the Brooklyn Public Library to celebrate the release of Brothers of the Gun, and the start of their corresponding show, ‘Syria In Ink‘ an exhibition of the paintings from the book.  This will also be the start of Molly’s book tour for Brothers of the Gun which will have her visiting LASan FranciscoPortlandSeattleNew YorkWashington DCLondonParis, and Boston. The event and installation will be at the Brooklyn Public Library Central Branch at 10 Grand Army Plaza.

We will start he evening at 7:30 pm with an Author Talk. Molly will be joined in conversation by the renowned and poet, novelist, translator and scholar Sinan Antoon.  They will speak about the subjects covered in Brothers of the Gun and the process behind its creation.

An audio tour will also be available to visitors that presents author Marwan Hisham’s stories behind the images and in his own voice.

    About Molly:
    Molly Crabapple is an artist and writer in New York. She is the author of two books, Drawing Blood and Brothers of the Gun, (with Marwan Hisham). Her reportage has been published in the New York Times, New York Review of Books, The Paris Review, Vanity Fair, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, and elsewhere. She has been the recipient of a Yale Poynter Fellowship, a Front Page Award, and shortlisted for a Frontline Print Journalism Award. She is often asked to discuss her work chronicling the conflicts of the 21st Century, and has appeared on All In with Chris Hayes, Amanpour, NPR, BBC News, and more. Her art is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the United States Library of Congress and the New York Historical Society.
